UTHRO 2025 Calendar of Annual Activities (Subject to change)
January - Bingo for the Endowment. On January 15th from 11 AM-2:30 PM we will play bingo to raise money for our Endowment on Aging. Crockpot taco soup will be provided for lunch with all the fixings, along with dessert and drinks. The cost will be $10 per person for lunch. Please RSVP and prepay for the lunch by January 8. February - Valentine's Day Luncheon. Join fellow UT Retirees at Guadalajara Mexican Grill (2925 SW Freeway in Houston) for lunch on February 14 from 11:30 AM - 2 PM. RSVP to [email protected]. You will pay for your own lunch.
March - Bus trip to Galveston for the Galveston Harbor Tour on March 12. Bus leaves OCB at 10 AM and returns about 4 PM. A one-hour tour aboard the Seagull II, then lunch at the Shark-Shack. Cost is $15 and lunch is on your own. RSVP to [email protected] by March 5. Pay $15 to Margaret Zambrano. Note: The boat is not wheelchair or handicapped accessible.
April - Lunch and Learn at the Rio Grande Room at OCB on April 16th from 11 AM - 1 PM. Lilliana Cracraft with speak on "The Many Products from Cactus and Succulent Plants; Old & New". A light lunch will be provided and parking validated. RSVP by April 10 to [email protected] . Please bring loose change for the Endowment Jar.
May - Cinco de Mayo luncheon at the Rio Grande Room at OCB on May 7 from 11 AM - 2 PM. We plan on providing meat, tortillas, basic fixings (lettuce, cheese, onion, jalapenos etc) but please bring a side dish such as tamales, rice, beans, salsa, guacamole and desserts (and maybe chips for those who don’t want to cook). We'll play Loteria (Mexican Bingo) for small prizes. RSVP to Janice Thomas at [email protected] by April 30th. Please bring loose change for the Endowment Jar.
