A virtual meeting was held on September 29 for UTHRO members to consider and vote on seed grant awards from the UTHRO Endowment for Healthy Aging. There were 20 members present. Two $1,000 awards were given and one $5,000 grant was also awarded.

From UTHRO's Executive Committee: There was great sadness when the UTHRO family heard about the passing of Dr. Carmel Dyer on May 4 at only 62. We offer our deepest condolences to her family with this loss. Dr Dyer was one of our most fervent supporters and we dedicated our Endowment supporting the Consortium on Aging.

Sadly our group travel European River Cruise Adventure to France in 2020 was cancelled due to COVID-19. Originally scheduled for Apr 1-12, then rescheduled for Oct 18-29, we may try again in 2021 for a similar trip to Paris France and a 10-night, 11-day river cruise.

UTHRO members can take a bus trip to the Bryan Museum in Galveston on Thursday, March 19. The museum is located in the historic Galveston Orphans Home, an exquisite Renaissance Revival-style building. It houses 12,000 years of historical artifacts and artwork relating to Texas and the American West. Afterwards, we will have lunch at Joe's Crab Shack on the Seawall on your own dime.
Bus will leave OCB promptly at 10:00 AM and return around 3:00 PM. Please arrive at least 15 minutes early.
